A chocolate cake has always been one of the most iconic cocktails of all time, and for good reason.
In the 1960s, when cocktails were still being created, chocolate was a natural candidate for a cocktail ingredient, because chocolate is such a strong stimulant.
It was easy to mix chocolate with other ingredients in cocktails and create some of the world’s most popular drinks, like martinis and bitters.
And in the 1970s and 1980s, the use of chocolate in cocktails was almost universal.
Now, though, chocolate is slowly being phased out, and it’s becoming increasingly rare in drinks, which means that chocolate is getting more and more relegated to the cocktail recipe books.
It also means that it’s become harder and harder to make a good chocolate martinis.
But in a new video, bartender and chocolate lover Michael Dominguez (aka The Chocolate Wizard) demonstrates how you can recreate the magic of a chocolate cake, without having to cook it.
And for those who don’t have chocolate, here’s how you make your own.
