I’ve never had a milkshakes before, but I thought this recipe would be a good introduction to a new milkshare I’ve been trying out for a few months.
It’s called chocolate moussaka, and it’s a chocolate milky dessert with a hint of cocoa powder, and a little bit of honey.
It’s basically the same as the classic milkshatas from the States, except it’s flavored with cocoa powder instead of milk.
The ingredients I used: 1 cup sugar, divided in half 1 cup sugar sugar, chopped in half, divided 2 tablespoons milk, divided into 2 cups 2 tablespoons cocoa powder (you can use regular sugar, but it’ll be too sweet for me) 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, or 1 teaspoon almond extract (I used almond extract because it’s cheaper) 1 cup milk, mixed 1 cup cream, softened 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 tablespoons honey, optional 2 tablespoons butter, softened (or 1/2 teaspoon almond butter, but you can use coconut oil) 1.
Pour the sugar into a blender and blend on high for 1 minute.
Once the sugar has completely dissolved, add the milk and blend for another minute.
Blend the remaining 2 tablespoons of milk and the cocoa powder.
Blend for another 1 minute on high until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Add the vanilla extract and vanilla.
Blend until it thickens a little.
Add half the cream to the mixture and mix well.
Pour it into a glass or a plastic cup and top with a chocolate meringue.
If you’re making it ahead of time, you can also use leftover milk or whipped cream.
I made this recipe last night.
It was a big hit!
