The New York State Department of Food and Agriculture is issuing a warning about a new chocolate dessert that has made its way into New York’s popular Valentine’s day tradition.
Dairy products can also contain ingredients that can trigger food poisoning.
In a press release issued Tuesday, the department said a batch of chocolate chocolatemorty with chocolate and raspberry flavors was found at a New York Dairy Products Company factory in May.
It was then sent to the New York Food Safety Inspection Agency for testing, which determined the chocolate was not labeled as containing MSG, a chemical commonly used in food and beverage.
The department also said the chocolate had been tested with other ingredients.
A spokesperson for the department told the Daily News that the department has not yet determined if the product has been found in another state.
The spokesperson also said that the FDA was not aware of any food poisoning incidents associated with the chocolaty.
